Apple Security Patches Key Vulnerabilities Addressed

• CVE-2024-45490: A vulnerability in the open-source XML parser libexpat, which has been patched in several applications since its discovery in August.

• CVE-2024-54529: Found in the Audio component of macOS, this vulnerability could allow an app to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, potentially taking over the system.

• CVE-2024-54526: An issue where a malicious app could access private information.

• CVE-2024-54527: A vulnerability that could allow an app to access sensitive user data.

• CVE-2024-54503: A permissions issue that could allow an app to access sensitive user data.

• CVE-2024-54513: Processing a maliciously crafted font could result in the disclosure of process memory.

• CVE-2024-54486: An issue in ImageIO that could allow an app to execute arbitrary code.

Apple encourages users to update their devices to the latest software versions to protect against these vulnerabilities. Users can check for updates in Settings (or System Settings) > General > Software Update
